This facility stands as a testament to JLR’s commitment to excellence and innovation in classic automobile restoration and service.

The project, located on an occupied business park in Ryton-on-Dunsmore, delivered the largest facility of its type in the world, with dedicated showroom space and a workshop containing 54 bays for servicing and restoring Jaguar and Land Rover models.

Other works included the fitting out of the showroom and show areas, as well as the provision of a reception, sales areas, offices, amenity areas and a design studio on a mezzanine floor above.

The workshop itself is meticulously organised, with distinct areas allocated for the strip-down, remanufacturing, and assembly phases of restoration programs.

Beyond the workshop, the project also encompassed the outfitting of showrooms and display areas, as well as the creation of reception areas, sales spaces, offices, amenities, and a design studio located on a mezzanine level.

Since joining the company in 1983, Francis has assumed various roles, from Chief Surveyor to managing Director, ultimately assuming the position of Chairman in 2021.

Adam joined SDC in 1995 as a Site Engineer. His position as Managing Director involves contributing to the day-to-day running of the business, setting the strategy for projects, and supporting all departments. Adam’s active approach to problem solving has been a defining trait of his career, as recognised by the Institution of Civil Engineers who honoured him with their Site Engineer of the Year Award 1999, in which he was praised for designing his own shuttering system.

Director

Gary joined SDC in 1989 and created the Special Projects Department in 1992. The division provides a bespoke and specialist service, utilising the support and resources already available to SDC as a Main Contractor. As a result of the Department’s ongoing success, Gary was promoted to the Board of Directors in January 2003. The Special Projects Department has since grown to comprise over 65 employees and reach a turnover of £30m each year.
